How to Achieve an Effective Web Design

Web design has become a very popular field within the IT field and, in fact, many businesses are demanding to get hold of designers in order to set up their ‘online’ presence. Although web design looks very easy, designers have to think that; as this is going to be viewed by pretty much everyone, it is going to have the company’s name all over it as much as the designers. Therefore, creating something which is eye-catching and efficient will surely get users drawing into learning more about the company.
So to achieve an effective website, there are many points that you should always take into consideration:

1. DON’T make your users think! A website should be simple and straightforward. You should always bear the user in mind after all; it is them who will be using it. If the navigation isn’t clear enough it will make it much harder for users to use. Therefore concise instructions should be used.
2. Have a well designed layout. This will help the design be much clearer to the eye plus, it will give the website its own look and feel. So don’t clump things together, space them out! Also divide the pages into areas that are digestible enough for the concentrate on, which will help users focus on what interests them!
3. TEST TEST TEST! A VERY important factor of web design! It’s an ongoing process which has to be done from start to finish ensuring functionality.

How can Blogs help with SEO?

It may seem strange but blogs can help a lot with generating traffic to your site. They have always been seen as a great method of SEO as they help towards search engines which always love new content. Therefore, if you can blog at least once a week, you will definitely be gaining an advantage in SEO.

By creating blogs, it will give you the opportunity to add fresh content regularly and easily. Therefore, this helps viewers to see that you are regularly updating your posts to include the latest information for people to see. This will then attract those who want to find out more about the topic.

Not only that, it brings the ‘interactivity’ factor into play by enabling visitors to ask questions and leave comments about the topic. This, in effect, also increases the chances of getting potential clients via social bookmarking i.e. adding you as a favourite site of theirs or by having your blogs shared by other social networking sites. Relationships can also be built via answering questions or queries which help to make the communication, between you and a user, much more personal.

Blogs can also provide further benefits in SEO by increasing your web authority and gaining further internal links. There are many factors to consider when dealing with SEO and as a result; the more link backs you have to your site will result not only in the importance but also the ranking of your site!
